workshop we will look at our posture and its effect on our
physical, mental, emotional, and spirit bodies. With a deeper
understanding of your structural alignment and body dynamics,
you can conserve energy, improve your health and deepen your Nia
and yoga practice. Be prepared to learn and discuss, as well

Jivamukti Summer Classes
with deAnna Anderson

Experience the joy and
freedom of the Jivamukti style of yoga with deAnna Anderson.
One Saturday
a
month treat yourself to an invigorating vinyasa flow class
backed by the experience of North Texas' only Jivamukti teacher.
Jivamukti means “liberation while living.” This modern style of
yoga emerged in 1984 from one of New York City’s best-known yoga
studios. Founders David Life and Sharon Gannon incorporated
their study of
ashtanga yoga with Shri K. Pattabhi Jois with spiritual
teachings, placing special emphasis on how to apply yogic
philosophy to daily life.
Each class has a theme, which is explored through yoga
scripture, chanting, meditation,
asana,
pranayama, and music.

Iyengar Summer Classes
with Randy Just

These monthly classes will be
perfect to fine tune your practice and reconnect with the depth
of the asana practice. Randy will lead us in three enlightening
Iyengar yoga classes this summer on Frida y
mornings at 9:30.
Iyengar yoga emphasizes posture and the development of balance
and alignment. To support students’ explorations of postures,
Iyengar yoga makes use of a wide variety of props. The
precision of Iyengar yoga is a necessary compliment that will
serve to enhance your practice.
Randy
is the director of B. K S. Iyengar Yoga Studio of Dallas. His
study of Yoga began in the 70’s, by the mid 80’s he extended his
knowledge by becoming a devoted student of Iyengar Yoga. Randy’s
innate sense of humor coupled with an insightful understanding
of Iyengar Yoga will both inspire and challenge you enhancing
the depth, clarity and focus of your practice.

This
series is strongly recommended for all of those new to yoga as well as
those who would like to deepen their understanding of the yoga process.
We will introduce you to simple yoga postures, how yoga classes are
generally structured and how to make your practice safe. Questions
and discussion are encouraged. You will be introduced to:
* breathing technique
* body alignment and form
* flexibility and strength
* increased range of motion and mobility
* improved concentration and balance

Nia White Belt Intensive
With Holly Curtis

Soul Fitness
is proud to hold our second Nia White Belt Intensive.
The Nia White Belt Intensive Training is the somatic
and mindful study of the 13 Nia White Belt
Principles. Each Day is divided into highly
interactive sessions where you will learn, move, and
practice the Science, Craft, and Art of the Nia Body
of Work. This is accomplished using both cognitive
and experiential learning models. This 7-day
experience offers leading edge education in movement
dynamics, body-mind physiology, kinesiology,
choreography, physical/x-ray anatomy, and music
appreciation. In addition you will participate with
other students in Nia classes to witness the power
of the Nia Technique in practice. The Nia Intensive
experience empowers every Body to take their
practice and their life the next level.
The training will begin on Friday, August 29th, at
noon.
Sessions will meet Saturday - Wednesday, 7:30am
until 6pm, Thursday until 4:30pm.
Times will vary slightly from day to day.
The schedule includes a 90 minute lunch break each
day.
Tuition is $1599.

Holly Curtis is an inspiring master teacher and
trainer of the Nia Technique. She began her
practice of Nia in 1993, following 11 years in
the fitness profession. She brings 26 years of
experience in movement and fitness to her
ongoing classes, workshops, and intensive
trainings. She holds a B.S. in Kinesiology, and
an M.Ed. in Health Education from the University
of Texas in Austin. Ms. Curtis is nationally
recognized as one of the top Nia trainers and
travels throughout the United States supporting
and training Nia teachers.
